ISO 22716 - Good Manufacturing Practice was developed for the cosmetic industry and takes into account the specific requirements of the industry. It is the kind of guide that is designed to provide guidance on Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetic products. The standard provides guidance on the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products, as well as management methods of: human resource, technical and administrative, which have a significant impact on the quality of production, and ultimately what is most important for the consumer - the product.
Regulation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation No 1223/2009 of 30 November 2009, which relates to cosmetic products requires the production of cosmetics in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices), and thus requires manufacturers to develop, implement and maintain quality system appropriate to their needs and type of production.
The Directive applies to all entities involved in the production of cosmetics: producers of raw materials, finished goods manufacturers, distributors, importers and exporters.
